Minimum qualifications:

  • ¬†Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of Product Management experience.

  • Product management or design experience with a focus on internet products and technologies.

  • Experience in developing Internet products and technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Product management or design experience with a focus on software products and technologies.

  • Familiarity with business issues or the ability to quickly learn.

  • Understanding of internet user needs and an innovative history of addressing them.

  • Technical skills in software engineering (coding, systems design etc.).

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to build effective working relationships.

  • Excellent technical abilities and analytical skills, with deep understanding of the Internet, developer and platform space.

The Product Management team works closely with our engineers to guide products from conception to launch. Google Maps' mission is to help our users wherever they are navigate, explore and get things done in the world. The Automotive team focuses on helping drivers get from A to B in a car, by integrating the Maps experience with the vehicle systems.

In this role you will be responsible for developing aspects of the strategy, vision, roadmap, and design and executing within this space. You will deliver on our strategy to ensure that drivers of the future can use Maps in their vehicles in a way that feels seamless.

With eyes focused squarely on the future, our team works closely with creative and prolific engineers to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting and tailoring our solutions to all the markets where Google does business.


  • Define roadmap, build consensus, and secure executive support. Work closely with engineering, design, research, and other cross-functional teams to effectively deliver.

  • Be the expert on our target users, how they interact with our product, and how they use alternative products. Understand in detail the full stack and interactions of the product on a technical level.

  • Advocate for both automotive manufacturers and users when making product decisions and trade-offs.

  • Seek out, validate, and build features to improve the quality, reliability, utility, and enjoyment of Google Maps for our users.

  • Collaborate with teams in other offices and organizations to ensure that Google Maps features bring the best of Google Maps technologies to drivers.
