Talenza are recruiting a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to take the helm of one of

Australia's fastest growing and exciting start-ups.

The CTO will have responsibility for the platform architecture and

security of our client’s platform and own the ISMS, regulatory

compliance obligations and data governance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Formulating the organisation's IT strategy (in collaboration with other

    executives). Establishing and directing the company’s technical vision,

    and leading all aspects of the company’s technological development

    and future growth.

  • Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Product Officer,

    Head of Development and Head of Infrastructure & Security to ensure

    that the technology priorities are clear, executed efficiently and in

    accordance the company's risk appetite.

  • Manage the provision of secure/stable IT services to support business

    outcomes through effective risk management strategies

  • Establish and maintain value-based stakeholder and strategic supplier

    relationships (including external) which meet business requirements

  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of group assets,

    information, data and IT services through clearly defined


  • Represent the company's technology strategy to shareholders.
  • Represent technology assets to external bodies, including

    audit, banks and regulators.

  • Lead the software engineering and technology teams in accordance

    with the company's desired culture and values.

  • Effective management and development of employees to

    reach full potential and grow succession plans within the team

  • Working in a consultative fashion with the Executive Leadership Team

    as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and


  • Discover and implement new technologies that yield efficient,

    scalability and competitive advantage.

  • Review and maintain up to date technical designs created for

    conformance to development standards.

  • Use stakeholders’ feedback to perform necessary improvements and

    adjustments to technology

  • Develop policies, procedures and use technology to enhance and

    constantly redevelop products and services that are currently offered

  • Look at how to further implement new platform technologies within the

    company to ensure its success both presently and in the future

    Knowledge and Experience:

  • 15+ years experience in Information Technology, security, software

    development, product management, and/or quality assurance

  • 5+ years proven management experience being a motivational and

    proficient people manager

  • Experienced in maintaining and demonstrating compliance against an


  • Proven agile/DevOps experience
  • Strong experience with IaaS, PaaS and SaaS & multi cloud vendors

    (AWS, Azure, GCP) & Security environments

  • Regulatory & compliance exposure essential (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI/DSS,

    APRA, ASIC), hand's on experience preferred.

  • Experience in supporting a IT function grow and transition from build

    to operational phase

  • Proven ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels

    of staff and develop strong successions plans across the business.

  • Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills and superior communication and

    stakeholder management skills

  • Proven ability to empower and delegate. Sharing authority and

    responsibilities with others to move decision making and accountability

    downward through the organisation, enable individuals to stretch their

    capabilities, and accomplish the business unit’s strategic priorities.

  • Proven ability in driving execution. Translating strategic priorities into

    operational reality; aligning communication, accountabilities, resource

    capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to

    ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable
