The Company

FIJV Pty Ltd is a private mining investment company. We are active in the magnetite iron ore sector in Western Australia (WA) and seek to develop the Yogi magnetite iron ore resources in the Yalgoo area of the mid-west.

The Yogi Mine Project, about 225 km east-north-east of Geraldton and 15 km north-east of Yalgoo in mid-west WA, is a magnetite iron ore, bounded iron formation, open pit mine.

As a technology leader in the processing of magnetite, FIJV will be applying cutting edge processing technology and as a result requires to appoint a Chief Technology Officer to oversee all aspect of the technology utilisation.

The Role

Responsible for overseeing the entire information and communication technology (ICT) requirements for the business as it progresses from development to production.

Assess business operation ICT needs covering the exploration, development and production phases, while maintaining effective corporate IT and communication infrastructure.

Analyse information, process and automation control requirements and define specific technology to meet those needs.

Formulate and guide ICT strategies, policies and plans in line with company development.

Directing the specifications, selection, installation and operation of ICT resources.

Formulate user training requirements for all ICT related technologies. Ensure training materials, programs and support are suited for the application, and training is integrated into the operations for all sub-contractors or 3rd party partners.

Direct ICT operations and define priorities between system development, maintenance and operations.

Ensure the ICT systems are secure and compliant with all data protection legislation.

Lead a multi-disciplinary team working across mining and processing technologies including hardware, software and industrial automation / controls.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a seasoned ICT professional with a strong theoretical and industrial background in Electrical and Communications Engineering, and specifically in Signal Processing, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning and their industrial applications in Mining and Magnetite processing technology. Candidates should;

Have solid track record in establishing the ICT infrastructure associated with magnetite mining and processing technology.

Be familiar with leading / cutting edge international and Australian mining and process management technology.

Practical experience delivering ICT strategy, ICT architecture, ICT development to large and complex organisations.

Experience working with international teams and extensive exposure to working with mining and resource processing teams from the middle east and specifically Iran. Communication skills in Persian is preferred.

Have extensive experience working with different business functions to ensure the ICT infrastructure meets business needs.

Ensure the system is secure and data protection standards are maintained.

Have taken a leading role in procurement of technology and take leading role in managing relationships with ICT vendors, suppliers and 3rd party partners.

Have a Masters or Ph.D. Degree in Electrical (Communications) or Computer Engineering.
