Senior/Principal Analytics & Simulation Consultant

Job Summary

AECOM Perth office is seeking a Senior/Principal Analytics & Simulation Consultant.

As a member of the Analytics & Simulation team you will work closely with engineers, drafters, and project administrators throughout the AECOM Australia business.

External to the business this position has regular contact with clients and contractors in a wide range of industries.

You will be part of an experienced team responsible for developing discrete event simulation models (particularly in the transport and resources sectors); conducting data reduction and applying statistical analysis on existing systems to provide input data for simulation models; using these models to test ‘what-if’ scenarios and preparing reports for customers.

A self-motivating and inquisitive individual would best suit this role.

Minimum Requirements

A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline drive environment

The following exposure is essential:

  • Discrete event modelling experience
  • Strong programming experience
  • Data Visualisation tools such as Tableau/Power BI etc.
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Previous exposure to the consulting environment

The following exposure would be highly desirable:

  • Previous experience with SQL
  • Web development
  • Knowledge of other operations research and optimisation techniques
  • This role involves regular contact with clients so very good interpersonal skills with an ability to focus on client requirements is a must.
  • Strong analytical and data manipulation skills
  • Quality and productivity in execution of duties and responsibilities as outlined above

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Mathematics/Computer Science or Engineering or similar numerate discipline;
  • 5+ years' experience
