The role

An exciting opportunity now exists for an outstanding Chief Information Officer to provide strategic vision and shape major strategies to further develop IT at Monash. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Information Officer will:

  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership of eSolutions, the provider of IT services for Monash staff and students across domestic and international campuses and entities.

  • Optimise the performance and efficiency of IT services at Monash.

  • Support Monash’s research, education and enterprise priorities through an IT strategic investment program.

  • Advance the goals of Monash through solutions that adopt forward-looking technology in a culture promoting innovation, best practice, and service excellence.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the complexities, challenges and opportunities facing the higher education sector, the ability to manage institution-wide services and resources, and the capability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders. 

The appointee will be a client-focused executive with demonstrated experience in leading large-scale IT projects in a complex environment. Highly collegial, engaging and resilient, the successful candidate will have commercial acumen and ideally will have recent experience in the research and higher education sector.
